When Charlie wrote to me asking to book a photo shoot and he mentioned that he would propose to his girlfriend Janai in the end, I was very excited. Being a witness of this joyous, intimate moment is always something very special to me. Feeling that I am capturing their life-changing moment gives me goose bumps.
We scheduled a phone call to plan all the details. He wanted it to be a surprise proposal, so we came with different ideas on how it would happen.
Charlie chose first to do the photo shoot in Born and Barceloneta and then move to Barceloneta beach, where he would go down on his knee. Our “secret” sign would be him handing her his mobile phone so that she reads out a poem he wrote for her (isn’t he the sweetest?!). She didn’t expect anything!
And… she said yes!
