Best Spots to Propose in Barcelona
So you’re planning to pop The Big Question. Congratulations! Barcelona, with its narrow cobbled streets, breathtaking views, and romance in the air is one of the best cities in the world to do it!
If you want to make your day most memorable but are not sure how you’re in the right place.
The places I recommend have one thing in common – they are all uber-romantic! (hint: that’s what you want;). As a photographer, I pay attention to breathtaking backdrops, so here I’m sharing with you the ideas I have gathered and tried throughout the years.
1. Confess your eternal love to her in front of the most beautiful fountain in Barcelona
This beautiful city park offers a green oasis next to the town center where locals take a break from the heat, train yoga, play guitar, and meet friends for picnics. It has an impressive fountain Cascada Monumental, which is a rich source of backdrops.
2. Surprise her at the magical Parc Güell with a bottle of cava
Colorful, green, and with stunning vistas over Barcelona. What else can you ask for? This UNESCO World Heritage Site designed by the genius architect Antoní Gaudí attracts thousands of visitors every year. Even though it gets very packed, if you go there early (and I mean EARLY) in the morning, you might end up with the most magical photos from your engagement ever.
3. Watch the sunrise over Barcelona at Bunkers del Carmel
Also known as Turó de la Rovira, this viewpoint is more known to the locals than tourists. However, as most of the amazing places in Barcelona, it gets busy during the day. So if you want to make it just about the two of you, better get up early!
4. Take her to the Magic Fountain show (but propose before the show!)
Would you like to propose to her in front of the Magic Fountain? I have a better idea! Propose at sunset and then finish the evening in a romantic way by watching the Magic Fountain show after it gets dark! It is indeed a truly beautiful fountain spectacle, but not the best place to propose due to the crowds and lack of light (she won’t look as stunning as in the daylight). So, propose before the show, and then get to enjoy the Magic Fountain already as an engaged couple!
5. Get lost in the secret maze
Parc del Laberint d’Horta, also known as Barcelona Maze seems to be taken straight out of a fairytale. The green labyrinth looks impressive, especially at sunrise and sunset and makes a magical backdrop for proposals. Take your girlfriend to the secret maze and pop the Question. She’ll love it, I promise.
